This senior-level role is responsible for the development, implementation, and continuous improvement of clinical programs encompassing In-Office Dispensing (IOD), patient navigation, and disease-specific care pathways across Xiaflex treatment, BPH, OAB, bladder cancer, prostate cancer, and radiation therapy. The Director works in close collaboration with physicians, advanced practice providers, administrative leadership, and external partners to ensure exceptional patient outcomes, regulatory compliance, and operational excellence.**Department:** Oncology / Urology Service Line**Reports To:** Chief Nursing Office**FLSA Status:** Exempt**Employment Type:** Full-Time**Travel Required:** Up to 20% (conferences, vendor meetings, off-site training# **KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**## **In-Office Dispensing (IOD) Program*** Oversee the daily operations and regulatory compliance of the IOD program, including procurement, inventory management, and medication dispensing protocols.* Ensure adherence to all state pharmacy regulations, DEA requirements, and payer policies governing in-office drug administration.* Monitor drug utilization trends, reimbursement rates, and financial performance of the IOD program; implement strategies to maximize operational efficiency.* Partner with billing and coding staff to ensure accurate and timely claims submission for administered medications.* Maintain vendor relationships with pharmaceutical representatives and group purchasing organizations (GPOs).## **Patient Navigation — Xiaflex (Collagenase Clostridium Histolyticum)*** Lead the patient navigation program for Xiaflex, supporting patients diagnosed with Peyronie's disease through the treatment journey from diagnosis through injection series completion.* Develop and implement standardized workflows for Xiaflex patient identification, prior authorization, scheduling, and follow-up.* Coordinate closely with urologists and ancillary staff to ensure proper patient selection, informed consent, and post-procedure education.* Track and report patient outcomes, treatment adherence, and satisfaction metrics for the Xiaflex program.## **Benign Prostatic Hyperplasia (BPH)*** Oversee clinical programs and patient navigation for BPH management, including medical therapy, minimally invasive procedures (e.g., UroLift, Rezum, TURP), and surgical referral pathways.* Support the development of care protocols that align with current AUA guidelines and evidence-based best practices.* Collaborate with scheduling and care coordination teams to minimize wait times and optimize patient flow for BPH services.* Monitor quality metrics including symptom score (IPSS) documentation, treatment adherence, and re-treatment rates.## **Overactive Bladder (OAB)*** Direct the OAB service line, encompassing conservative management, pharmacotherapy (including IOD of onabotulinumtoxinA), neuromodulation therapy, and advanced treatment referrals.* Ensure patient navigators provide comprehensive education on treatment options, expected outcomes, and follow-up requirements.* Track and analyze clinical outcomes data including urinary diary metrics, treatment response rates, and patient-reported quality-of-life measures.* Facilitate multidisciplinary coordination between urology, urogynecology, and physical therapy as appropriate.**Bladder Cancer Program*** Provide strategic leadership for the bladder cancer care program, covering surveillance, intravesical therapy (BCG, chemotherapy), and navigation for muscle-invasive disease.* Implement and maintain standardized cystoscopy surveillance schedules and TURBT follow-up protocols in compliance with national guidelines.* Support navigation for patients requiring cystectomy, systemic chemotherapy, or immunotherapy, ensuring seamless transitions between care settings.* Coordinate with pathology, radiology, and medical oncology partners to facilitate timely diagnosis and multidisciplinary tumor board participation.* Manage the IOD program components related to intravesical therapy, including BCG supply chain management and shortage contingency planning.## **Prostate Cancer Program*** Lead the comprehensive prostate cancer navigation program, supporting patients from initial PSA screening and biopsy through active surveillance, definitive treatment, and post-treatment monitoring.* Oversee hormone therapy management including Androgen Deprivation Therapy (ADT) administered through the IOD program.* Develop and maintain care pathways for low-, intermediate-, and high-risk prostate cancer patients in alignment with NCCN guidelines.* Facilitate shared decision-making resources and navigation for patients selecting between radiation therapy, surgery, and active surveillance.* Coordinate post-treatment survivorship programs addressing incontinence, erectile dysfunction, and oncologic surveillance.## **Radiation Therapy Coordination*** Serve as the primary liaison between the urology practice and radiation oncology partners for patients receiving external IMRT* Develop and maintain radiation therapy referral pathways and co-management protocols to ensure continuity of urologic care throughout the radiation treatment course.* Oversee spacer (e.g., SpaceOAR) program coordination, including patient education, scheduling, and procedural support.* Monitor radiation-related urologic side effects and coordinate timely clinical follow-up to optimize patient quality of life.* Collaborate with radiation oncologists on combined modality treatment planning and outcomes tracking.# **LEADERSHIP & ADMINISTRATIVE RESPONSIBILITIES*** Recruit, onboard, supervise, and evaluate oncology nursing staff, patient navigators, and care coordinators within the oncology service line.* Establish departmental goals, KPIs, and performance benchmarks; report regularly to executive leadership on program performance.* Lead quality improvement initiatives and root-cause analyses to address care gaps, safety events, or patient satisfaction concerns.* Develop and manage the oncology department budget, including staffing, supplies, and program investments.* Ensure compliance with all applicable federal and state regulations including HIPAA, OSHA, and state urology/oncology licensing requirements.* Represent the practice at community health events, professional conferences, and payer meetings as needed.* Drive patient satisfaction by implementing service recovery processes and proactively addressing barriers to access and care.* Maintain current knowledge of industry trends, emerging therapies, and reimbursement policy changes affecting urologic oncology.# **REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS*** Bachelor's degree in Nursing, Healthcare Administration, or a related clinical/health sciences field (required).* Master's degree in Healthcare Administration, Business Administration, or Clinical Leadership (strongly preferred).* Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in oncology, urology, or a related clinical specialty, with at least 3 years in a program management or leadership role.* Demonstrated experience managing in-office dispensing programs, including drug procurement, regulatory compliance, and billing.* Proven experience developing and leading patient navigation or care coordination programs.* Strong working knowledge of urologic oncology disease states, treatment modalities, and clinical workflows.* Excellent organizational, analytical, and communication skills with the ability to lead cross-functional teams.* Proficiency with electronic health record (EHR) systems and healthcare data reporting tools.# **PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS*** RN licensure with oncology certification (OCN) or Certified Oncology Nurse Navigator (AONN+) credential.* Experience with Xiaflex patient services programs and specialty pharmacy coordination.* Familiarity with radiation therapy coordination and multidisciplinary tumor board operations.* Knowledge of value-based care models, clinical quality measures, and payer contracting in oncology.* Experience in a physician-owned or private practice urology setting.# **CORE COMPETENCIES*** Strategic Leadership — Ability to set direction, inspire teams, and drive programmatic growth.* Clinical Acumen — Deep understanding of urologic oncology care pathways and patient needs.* Regulatory Knowledge — Proficiency in healthcare compliance, drug dispensing regulations, and accreditation standards.* Financial Literacy — Capability to manage departmental budgets and optimize service line profitability.* Relationship Building — Skilled at cultivating partnerships with physicians, vendors, payers, and community stakeholders.* Data-Driven Decision Making — Ability to leverage clinical and operational data to improve outcomes.* Patient-Centered Advocacy — Commitment to equity, access, and compassionate care.# **PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS & WORK ENVIRONMENT**This position is primarily office-based within a clinical practice environment.
