Certified Rehabilitation Vision Therapist (CVRT) Augusta Area Roamer

Hours*: Monday-Friday ~ 8-4:30, you can flex your schedule for meeting clients. The Certified Vision Rehabilitation Therapist (CVRT) provides instruction to persons with vision impairments in the use of compensatory skills and assistive technology. The CVRT is an itinerant position requiring travel throughout the assigned territory. * Work closely with clients with a visual impairment to assess their needs and develop a rehabilitation plan; * Provide information and adjustment counseling services, serve as an advocate, and make referrals to other agencies for support services; * Utilize the agency’s database to prepare and maintain client case records and outcome data in a professional manner; * Work within the requirements of contract and grant funding sources; * Serve as a resource providing information and public education within the community, assist in the community education effort in an effort to identify unserved and underserved clients and serve as an ambassador for the agency and its mission; * Participate in ongoing program development, establishment, implementation and evaluation efforts; * Work with the Director of Community Rehabilitation to assist with messaging, fund development and to provide information that can be used in the Annual Report, brochures, and speaking engagements; * Remains current regarding issues affecting the field of Vision Rehabilitation; * Accept and perform other duties as assigned relating to the professional role and responsibilities of a Vision Rehabilitation Therapist. * Adhere to all The Iris Network policies and procedures; * Masters in Vision Rehabilitation or other related field; * Microsoft Office experience; * It is the policy of the agency to provide equal employment opportunities to all candidates for employment regardless of age, race, sex, color, religion, national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, genetic information, veteran status or any other protected status.
