In your role as a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, you will: Conduct comprehensive assessments to evaluate the mental health needs of clients, utilizing both diagnostic assessments and structured clinical interviews to inform treatment planning. Engage in one-on-one counseling sessions, empowering clients to navigate mental health issues such as anxiety, depression, trauma, addiction, and interpersonal conflicts. Facilitate group therapy sessions focused on support and education, creating a safe space for clients to share experiences and learn coping strategies. Provide crisis intervention services, performing risk assessments and coordinating with emergency resources as required to ensure client safety. Stay informed on current trends in mental health through ongoing professional development and training, directly enhancing the quality of care you provide. Collaborate effectively with psychiatrists, psychologists, and social workers to coordinate comprehensive treatment plans that encompass all aspects of a client’s mental health. Your client base will comprise diverse individuals—including adults, adolescents, and families—seeking assistance for a variety of mental health concerns. This role emphasizes a person-centered approach, tailoring therapeutic strategies to respect and address cultural, socioeconomic, and personal contexts, thus ensuring the most effective care. A master’s or doctoral degree in counseling, psychology, or a closely related field from an accredited institution. A valid state license as a mental health counselor (LMHC), meeting all state-mandated education and professional experience requirements. A minimum of three years of supervised clinical experience in a mental health setting, demonstrating competency in therapeutic techniques. Strong interpersonal communication and active listening abilities, essential for building rapport with clients and conducting effective counseling sessions. The capability to conduct thorough clinical assessments and uphold ethical standards while delivering mental health services. While not mandatory, candidates with specialized training or certifications in trauma-informed care, addiction counseling, or family therapy will be preferred. Additional experience working in outpatient settings or with specific populations can enhance your candidacy. This full-time position offers an annual salary range of USD 80,000 – 100,000, commensurate with experience.
