Key Responsibilities Conduct thorough mental health assessments to identify the unique needs, strengths, and challenges faced by children and adolescents. Develop, implement, and evaluate individualized treatment plans that incorporate evidence-based modalities tailored to each patient's development stage and family context. Utilize various therapeutic techniques, including cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and play therapy, to address issues such as anxiety, depression, ADHD, and behavioral disorders. Collaborate with child psychiatrists and multi-disciplinary professionals to safeguard a coordinated approach to patient care and help facilitate the best possible outcomes. Provide crisis intervention when necessary, equipping patients and families with the necessary tools to navigate mental health emergencies. Conduct educational sessions for families, helping them understand mental health issues, available treatment options, and community resources for additional support. Responsible for maintaining accurate, detailed, and confidential patient documentation, adhering to legal and ethical standards. Engage actively in team meetings and training sessions to enhance professional development and contribute ideas for innovative therapeutic practices. Stay updated on the latest research and advancements within the mental health field to continually improve service delivery. Patient Population / Client Focus This role centers on supporting children and adolescents, typically aged 5-18, who may be experiencing various mental health concerns. As a Mental Health Therapist, you will work closely with both the young clients and their families, tailoring your therapeutic approaches to meet the distinct needs of each child while considering family dynamics during treatment. Qualifications A Master's or Doctoral degree in Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapy, Mental Health Counseling, or Psychology from an accredited institution. A valid and current license to practice as an LCSW, LPC, or LMFT within the state of Georgia. Strong understanding of child and adolescent mental health diagnoses and a proficiency in evidence-based treatment methodologies. Demonstrated experience in providing individual and family therapy to children and adolescents, with a preference for professional experience promoting positive outcomes. Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills with a compassionate approach that fosters trust and rapport with young clients and their families. Proficient in using electronic health record (EHR) systems and other relevant technologies necessary for effective practice. Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team, exhibiting both independence and collaboration in therapeutic settings. Preferred Experience A minimum of two years of experience in a clinical setting working with child and adolescent populations. Familiarity with the Atlanta community resources and organizations related to child and adolescent mental health. Previous experience in an outpatient care environment, particularly in a collaborative team-based setting. Compensation and Benefits The compensation for this position ranges from $80,000 to $100,000 annually, complemented by opportunities for bonuses based on performance.
