Assistant Professor of STEM Education (Mathematics Education)

I'm excited to share that the Department of Curriculum & Instruction at Texas Tech Universityis hiring a tenure-track Assistant Professor of STEM Education (Mathematics Education)to begin September 1, 2027.
We are seeking a colleague who is passionate about K–16 Mathematics Educationand eager to contribute to a collaborative community of scholars through research, teaching, mentoring, and service.
Required qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Mathematics Education or Curriculum & Instruction with a Mathematics Education emphasis (completed by August 31, 2027).
- At least three years of full-time teaching experiencein K–12 mathematics, undergraduate mathematics, and/or mathematics education.
- Evidence of an emerging research agenda, including recent (within the past four years) peer-reviewed publications in Mathematics Education.
Preferred qualifications include experience with:
- STEM outreach initiatives.
- Research-practice partnerships and engaged scholarship.
- External grant development and funded research.
- Graduate-level teaching and mentoring of master's and doctoral students.
- Online teaching.
- AI in Mathematics Education and/or psychological or content-specific K–16 Mathematics Education research.
- Collaboration with schools, districts, community organizations, and professional associations.
Faculty in this position will be expected to maintain an active externally funded research program, publish in high-impact journals, teach graduate courses, mentor graduate students, and contribute to collaborative initiatives within and beyond the College of Education.
