Produce Buyer

Our Fairfax store is seeking a Full Time Produce Buyer. Good Earth is known for our 100% Certified Organic Produce department, and we are looking for a knowledgeable and passionate Produce Buyer to join our team. The ideal candidate has a deep understanding of pricing, margins, and maintaining accurate inventories. This position is full time, AM shifts, with one weekend day required. Responsibilities Buy for large-scale organic Produce department in consultation with Produce Manager and Produce Coordinator Setting wet and dry racks Organizing produce walk-in fridge Prepping product Lots of great customer service Qualifications 2 Years experience buying organic produce in a high volume store Previous high volume customer service experience Strong knowledge of produce: identification, nutrition, cooking, etc. Basic computer skills Alignment with the organic food movement Must be in good condition and be able to regularly lift up to 50 lbs, stand on concrete all day, regular reaching Basic knife experience and skills Fluency in English required Benefits For our Full-Time Employees, we offer: Quarterly Profit Share Bonuses Medical, dental and vision plans Paid Vacation and Sick Time 30% storewide discount, 50% discount on made to order Takeout food and drink 401k benefit with employer match #J-18808-Ljbffr
