About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Neuro ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years ICU experience; Neurosurgery experience preferred; Traveler must have basic arrhythmia experience. License: RN license required Certifications: BLS and ACLS required (AHA ONLY) Must-Have: Epic experience required; Must be willing to work with ICU and IMC patient population; Traveler will be required to pass Telemetry test prior to starting. Description: Evening/Night, 12-hour shifts from 19:00 to 07:30, with every other weekend rotation and some holidays. Must accept 4x12 shifts or Fri-Sun block. The position requires experience in Neuro Intensive Care Unit. Responsible for providing care to critically ill adult patients with a variety of neuro diagnoses such as stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, surgical resections, and trauma. Requires strong critical thinking skills along with specialized interventions and procedures such as hemodynamic monitoring and hypothermia. Join a team of skilled nurses with supportive leadership. Nurse-driven collaboration and partnership with certified physicians and other members of the interdisciplinary care team are valued. Basic arrhythmia experience is required. Traveler will need to pass a telemetry test prior to starting. The unit houses 18 beds and serves as a hub of intensive care for a Comprehensive Stroke Center. Patient diagnoses include ischemic stroke, subarachnoid hemorrhage, post-op neurosurgery, traumatic brain injury, and spinal cord injuries. Special equipment includes external ventricular drains and lumbar drains. The position may require floating as needed. All applicants must meet strict passing criteria for telemetry testing. Travelers will have two attempts to pass the telemetry exam, and if the second attempt fails, further actions may be required.
