Job Description

The Business Analysis Manager proactively supports the Business Management team by developing and utilizing analytical tools and metrics to drive overall profitability for all business segments within his / her assigned business unit. Reporting to the Director, Product Management, the Business Analysis Manager provides short- and medium-term analysis and insight on revenue/order execution, price analytics, EBITDA, Cash-flow and overall business performance to drive price initiatives, portfolio optimization, productivity initiatives, and product life cycle decisions. The Business Analysis Manager will also own analytics around long range supply/capacity planning and will manage business cases for strategic growth capital investments.

Responsibilities

• Working with Finance & Accounting to ensure the Profit & Loss Statements (P&L's) and Cash-flows for the Asset Teams is an accurate reflection of business performance (i.e. EBITDA, Cash-flow, Return on Invested Capital)
• Leads analytics by developing metrics and visualization tools to demonstrate pricing realization vs. plan, gaps to plan, mix upgrade opportunities, and new pricing opportunities
• Supports Business Management team with pricing governance. Utilize the tool to develop insights and identify opportunities for profit enhancement through price, portfolio optimization, productivity, customer / segment mix upgrade, and product life cycle actions.
• Closely collaborates with Product Management in preparing financial business cases for strategic capital. Develop tools to drive prioritization of strategic capital based on profitability and overall strategic direction.
• Measure business unit's demonstrated ability to meet capital business cases after capital investment.
• Ranks strategic capital requests by standard financial metrics including IRR, NPV, Pay-Back, & Discounted Pay-Back
• Support Product Management, Sales, and Marketing with ad hoc sales and pricing data and profitability analysis requests.
• Engages in process and system improvement projects around SAP analytics tools and profitability KPIs.
• Prepares business performance data for, and participates in the asset team meetings; including asset P&L forecasts, presenting progress against asset initiatives, as well as driving analyses to support Product Management decision making.
• Maintain data files required to support business rules and customer segmentation within the region.

Required Qualifications

• Good understanding of financial statements (i.e. P&L, Balance Sheet, & Cash-flow)
• Fluent in English spoken & written.
• 7+ years in analytics, sales support, order fulfilment, finance, economics, supply chain, or other relevant business roles
• Demonstrated proficiency in at least one of the following tools, and a strong desire to learn the others: Salesforce CRM, SAP, Business Analytics, and Microsoft Excel.
• Strong analytical skills, with an ability to derive insights from data through visualization to tell a cohesive story and make a recommendation
• Experience of working in a multicultural environment in an international organization. Experience working with teams in different time zones is desired
• Understanding of the processes associated with the sales cycle and the ability to influence the process to deliver business results.

Preferred Qualifications

• Demonstrates intellectual curiosity and passion for driving results and business process improvements.
• Chemical or other manufacturing industry experience.
• Proactive individual who takes ownership to resolve problems and influence change
• Demonstrated ability to manage complexity
