Senior Director, US Obesity Lead - US Medical Affairs, Obesity, non-MD

Role Summary The Senior Medical Director, Berobenatide will provide strategic and scientific leadership for US Medical Affairs activities supporting berobenatide in obesity and obesity‑related comorbid conditions. This role is accountable for shaping and executing the US medical strategy across the product lifecycle, with a strong emphasis on US medical affairs strategy, evidence generation, cross‑functional coordination, and external scientific engagement. The role partners closely with Global Medical Affairs (GMAT), Commercial, Clinical Development, and Field Medical teams to ensure alignment between global strategy and US execution. As berobenatide approaches launch and the obesity portfolio grows, this role may expand to include formal people leadership responsibilities. Responsibilities Lead strategic planning and execution of US Medical Affairs strategy for berobenatide in obesity and comorbid conditions. Translate strategy into integrated medical tactics and coordinate cross‑functional execution. Ensure timely and appropriate management of the medical affairs budget and expenditure. Support and shape the US evidence generation strategy including PhaseIV, real‑world evidence, and publication activities. Ensure seamless and coordinated partnership with Field Medical leadership to achieve integration of insights into strategy development and execution. Participate in medical and promotional review committees ensuring scientific rigor and compliance. Establish and grow existing critical external relationships with US thought leaders and professional societies for obesity. Provide input into medical engagement planning, including advisory boards and scientific exchange. Represent US Medical Affairs at national and international scientific congresses and conferences. Manage key stakeholders including Global Medical Affairs (GMAT), Commercial teams, and other internal partners. Contribute to future leadership needs as the portfolio and medical organization evolves. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree with 12+ years industry experience; Master’s with 10+ years; or PhD/PharmD with 7+ years. Significant experience in Medical Affairs or closely related pharmaceutical functions. Experience in obesity, metabolic, cardiometabolic, or related therapeutic areas preferred. Strong strategic thinking, leadership, and scientific communication skills. Knowledge of real‑world evidence, health care economics and its impact on medical decision making desired. Customer‑oriented approach and ability to work in cross‑functional teams. Proven strategic thinking skills and ability to interpret and implement strategic directions. Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Creativity, resourcefulness, high energy and flexibility. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Networking and negotiation skills. Eligibility for Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 22.5% of the base salary and participation in the share‑based long‑term incentive program.
