Accounting Manager – Oil & Gas (Onsite | North Dallas, TX)

We are seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to join our oil and gas company at our corporate office in North Dallas. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for overseeing daily accounting operations, supporting executive decision-making, and ensuring accurate and timely financial reporting. We’re looking for a leader who can take ownership of our accounting function, drive accuracy, and deliver financial insight that directly impacts business decisions; at Spindletop your input is expected, not just welcomed.

Key Responsibilities

· Oversee the daily operations of the Accounting Department

· Supervise and mentor a team of 3–5 accountants and accounting assistants

· Analyze and resolve accounting issues in collaboration with staff

· Prepare, review, and report on monthly financial statements for business entities and oil and gas properties

· Direct collaboration with external accounting and tax firms

· SEC reporting support through data preparation and analysis

· Tax support including federal, state, withholding, and franchise filings

· Financial insight and reporting for executive decision-making

· Maintain and enhance company accounting policies and procedures

· Stock transfers and corporate compliance coordination

· Financial assurance (licenses, bonds, registered agents)

· Support cash management and accounting system maintenance

· Perform additional duties as needed

Qualifications

· Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field

· 5-7 years of accounting experience

· Strong analytical skills and attention to detail

· Excellent communication, organizational, and time management skills

· Positive attitude and team-oriented mindset

· Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

· Ability to manage and develop a team

Additional Preferred Qualifications

· CPA preferred

· Experience with multi-entity businesses preferred

· Strong knowledge of GAAP and SEC reporting requirements

· 2+ years of oil and gas accounting experience preferred

· 2+ years of supervisory/management experience preferred (including management of personnel, not just tasks and processes)

· Working knowledge of PakEnergy/WolfePak software is a plus
