Production Supervisor

Eaton’s Electrical Division is currently seeking a Production Supervisor to join our team. This position is based at our Waukesha, WI facility.The expected annual salary range for this role is $86000 - $126000 a year. What you’ll do:POSITION OVERVIEW:As a Production Supervisor, you will direct departmental activities and initiate/participate in cross-functional activities to accomplish the objectives of safety, quality, on-time delivery, inventory, productivity, and continuous improvement. Improves employee involvement and communications to achieve strategic operating objectives. Leads/participates on continuous improvement teams including lean/six sigma (MVP) projects or events. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:Staffs, develops, and maintains an effective workforce of production personnel to accomplish department goals. Responsible for employee selection, counseling, training and development. Plan, direct, and control the work of assigned work centers to make maximum effective utilization of employees, equipment and material within budgetary requirements and cost/quality standards. This includes complete responsibility for the effective utilization of overtime and control of absenteeism.Own the overall performance of assigned area. Facilitate smooth hand offs between all shifts, identify and facilitate continuous improvement activity, participate and lead initiatives to meet plant level goals, work with Shift Supervisors and Operations Manager to set appropriate staffing levels and staffing alignment.Maintain the quality as well as quantity of various manufactured parts so that they meet engineering specifications. Manage each work center to achieve the lowest level of scrap and rework possible.Responsible for analyzing operating reports and taking necessary corrective action to effectively control all costs and expenses related to the department. Provide other budgetary information to Operations Manager as requested to meet planned budgeting requirements.Responsible for effective implementation of modern manufacturing methods that will reduce costs and increase production while improving the quality of goods produced. Manage administrative functions including attendance, time-off, training records, and internal communications.Qualifications:High School Diploma/GEDA minimum of five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing or operations environment.A minimum of one (1) year of Supervisory experience in a manufacturing or operations environmentNo relocation benefit is being offered for this position. Only candidates that currently reside within the immediate geographical area of 50 miles of Waukesha, WI will be considered. This means that Eaton will not support any CPT, OPT, or STEM OPT plans, F-1 to H-1B, H-1B cap registration, O-1, E-3, TN status, I-485 job portability, etc.Must be able to work in the United States without corporate sponsorship now and within the futurePREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution or completion of Eaton’s Front Line Leader Associate programRelevant experience in shop operations such as machining, assembly, fabrication as well as manufacturing systems such as Lean,Shop Floor Control, MRP, routings, BOMs, SPC, and ISO 9000.Previous leadership experience in manufacturing environmentWorking knowledge of employment law such as OSHA, FMLA, harassment, etc.Experience with lean manufacturing / Operational Excellence in 5S+, Value Stream Mapping, Standard Work, Visual Management, etc. Experience in Engineered to order environment.Skills:Must be a self-starter with the ability to work alone, or in a team environment with limited supervision.Candidate should have excellent verbal and written communication skills and must be able to function in a multi-tasking capacity.Excellent computer and data analysis skills.
