Quality Technician – 1st Shift

Pay: $22.50 per hour Shift: 1st Shift, 7:00 AM–3:30 PM

We are looking for a detail-oriented quality technician to support quality operations in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing facility. This position is responsible for inspecting products, performing dimensional measurements, identifying quality issues, and ensuring products meet established specifications and customer requirements. The ideal candidate has previous experience using calipers or other measuring tools, good math and computer skills, and strong attention to detail. This position works closely with production, warehouse, shipping, and other departments to identify and resolve quality concerns.

Responsibilities

• Inspect products and verify parts, quantities, labels, and other specifications
• Perform dimensional inspections using calipers and other measuring equipment
• Audit incoming materials and bulk products
• Perform stock checks and assist with inventory-related quality issues
• Identify, document, and contain nonconforming materials
• Prevent nonconforming products from being processed or shipped until quality issues are resolved
• Assist with investigating customer returns, complaints, and product quality concerns
• Maintain accurate records of inspections, quality issues, investigations, and resolutions
• Use computer systems and quality databases to document inspection and inventory information
• Maintain and verify measurement equipment as required
• Support production with inspections, process monitoring, and troubleshooting
• Communicate quality concerns with production, warehouse, shipping, and other departments
• Assist with corrective actions and verify that quality issues have been addressed
• Operate material-handling equipment as trained and authorized
• Support other departments as needed and perform additional quality-related duties as assigned

Qualifications

• At least 6 months of previous experience using measuring tools, including calipers, is required
• Good basic math skills
• Basic computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Good communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently with limited supervision
• Ability to identify and communicate product quality concerns
• Knowledge of quality assurance procedures is a plus
• Blueprint-reading experience is a plus
• Knowledge of SPC and control plans is a plus
• Experience in a manufacturing or quality environment is preferred
• Ability and willingness to learn additional inspection procedures and quality systems

Physical Requirements

• Ability to stand and walk for the duration of the shift
• Frequent reaching, grasping, and other physical activity
• Ability to lift and move up to 50 lbs. using proper lifting techniques
• Ability to perform repetitive inspection and measurement tasks
• Ability to safely work around manufacturing and material-handling equipment
• Comfortable working in a clean, climate-controlled manufacturing environment
