Position Overview

Insurance is how families protect what they have built. Colin Charlson State Farm is hiring an Account Associate in Mound, MN to provide world-class service to existing customers while helping them identify and purchase additional insurance products that fit their needs.

This is a blended Customer Care and Inside Sales position. You will assist customers with everyday policy questions and transactions while also looking for opportunities to strengthen their coverage. Success requires a service-first mindset, strong communication skills, and the confidence to have proactive conversations about insurance products and services.

Responsibilities

• Provide world-class service to existing customers
• Help current customers identify and purchase insurance products and services they do not currently have
• Respond promptly and professionally to customer inquiries and requests
• Answer billing and claims-related questions and help customers understand the next steps
• Assist customers with policy transactions involving new vehicles, new drivers, new homes, and other life changes
• Review customer accounts to identify coverage gaps and additional sales opportunities
• Present appropriate insurance options and ask for the business
• Follow up on quotes and customer opportunities
• Maintain accurate customer notes, sales activity, and follow-up records in the agency system
• Meet established customer service, sales, and production goals

This Probably Is Not Your Role If You

• Want a strictly administrative position without sales expectations
• Are uncomfortable recommending additional products or asking customers for the business
• Need frequent reminders to respond, follow up, or complete assigned responsibilities

Qualifications

• Prior sales, retail, customer service, or other customer-facing experience preferred
• Insurance experience is helpful but not required — training and licensing support are provided
• Strong phone presence and clear, professional communication
• Positive, coachable, and team-oriented attitude
• Self-motivated with strong follow-through and attention to detail
• Comfortable balancing customer service responsibilities with sales goals
• Willingness to obtain required insurance licenses

Pay range: $60,000-$80,000 per year

This range reflects expected total compensation—including base salary, commissions, and bonuses—when performance goals are met. Base salary varies based on experience and licensing. Commissions are uncapped, and high performers regularly exceed this range.
