Family Office Finance Director

A highly respected family office in New York City is seeking a Family Office Finance Director to oversee a blend of tax, accounting, and family office operations for ultra-high-net-worth individuals, trusts, partnerships, and closely held entities. What You\'ll Do Lead all aspects of tax planning, compliance, and strategy for ultra-high-net-worth individuals and family entities Review and oversee complex federal, state, and local tax returns, including Forms 1040, 1041, 1065, and related filings Prepare and review quarterly tax projections, estimated payments, and year-end tax planning Manage the accounting and financial reporting for trusts, partnerships, investment entities, and other family office structures Review investment activity, reconcile accounts, and assist with portfolio and cash reporting Oversee treasury functions, including cash management, bill pay, and coordination of banking activities Support philanthropic entities and charitable foundations with accounting, reporting, and tax-related matters Partner closely with principals, external advisors, legal counsel, investment professionals, and other service providers to deliver a high level of client service Identify opportunities to improve operational efficiencies, internal controls, and family office processes Mentor and develop junior team members while fostering a collaborative, service-oriented environment Stay current on evolving tax legislation and accounting developments impacting high-net-worth families and family office operations Qualifications 10+ years of experience in tax, accounting, or family office services supporting high-net-worth individuals, trusts, partnerships, and private clients Strong background in public accounting, family office, or private client services Experience with both tax compliance and accounting for complex entities, trusts, and investment structures Proven ability to build trusted relationships while providing exceptional client service with professionalism and discretion Strong communication skills with a hands-on, collaborative approach and willingness to wear multiple hats Why This Opportunity Stands Out Exceptional quality of life with only 3 days per week in-office Highly visible role working directly with principals and senior leadership Broad exposure across tax, accounting, investments, treasury, and family office operations Stable, long-term environment with a collaborative, relationship-focused culture #J-18808-Ljbffr Atlas Search
