An Electrical Engineer is a specialized role responsible for the design of complex embedded systems within the drone architecture.This position is at the core of the engineering department at Inspired Flight and will be part of a rapidly growing company in the growing UAV industry. Lots of upward mobility available for this role!Typical responsibilities:Design of electrical schematics and interconnectsDesign of electrical cable harnesses, circuit boards, and firmwareTuning of aircraft parameters to improve flight performancePerforming test flights aircraft to validate designsImplement design best practices such as design for manufacturability and testabilityYou'll excel in this role if you have:Tuning of flight control algorithms including PIDs and sensor filtersStrong understanding of circuit design and PCB layouts utilizing tools such as AltiumFamiliarity with drone flight control systems (PX4 or Ardupilot) and/or robotic autonomy technologiesFamiliarity with 3D printers, Digital Multimeters, Oscilloscopes, and other development tools and equipment.Experience with hardware and software product design cyclesUAV Pilot experience and/or a FAA Part 107 LicenseGreat communication skills and can work in cross functional teams and you are self motivated and willing to own a project from start to finish.Education/Experience Requirements:Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent discipline is required or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience1-5 Years experience in a related fieldExperience preferably in the following industries: UAS, aviation, aerospace, defense sectorBenefits Offered:Unlimited Paid Time OffWorld Class Health, Dental, Vision Insurance Plan401k w/ 6% company matchQuarterly Team Bonus PlanEqual Opportunity EmployerInspired Flight is deeply committed to building a workplace where inclusion is not only valued, but prioritized.
