You will work in a state-of-the-art, 52-bed inpatient acute rehabilitation hospital. The facility is dedicated to the treatment and recovery of individuals who have experienced a loss of function due to an injury or illness. Intensive, patient-focused specialized rehabilitation services are offered. Rehabilitation programs provide ongoing care and specialized treatment to patients throughout their recovery journey. Customized, intense rehabilitation is tailored to the individual needs of those recovering from stroke, brain injury, neurological conditions, trauma, spinal cord injury, amputation, and orthopedic injury. The goal is to maximize health, function, and quality of life through comprehensive physical medicine and rehabilitation programs. Unit Information: The unit consists of 52 private beds with a current patient census of 35. The nurse-patient ratio is 1:5. Equipment used includes an electronic health record system. The patient population includes individuals with spinal cord injuries, brain injuries, strokes, amputations, and complex wound care. Nurses should be prepared to care for isolation patients and those requiring tracheostomy care. Experience with restraints is also necessary. The average patient stay is 12 days. Dress code for nurses is navy blue scrubs or any color if not applicable. Initial reporting time is 7:30 PM for the shift starting at 7:15 PM. Specific instructions will be provided upon arrival.
