Accounts Receivable SpecialistOur recruiting team is partnering with an established organization in the Winston-Salem area to hire an Accounts Receivable Associate for an immediate contract opportunity. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working with customer accounts, applying payments, resolving discrepancies, and supporting accurate month-end reporting.The Accounts Receivable Associate will play an important role in maintaining accurate account balances while providing responsive, professional service to customers and internal business partners. The successful candidate will bring strong communication skills, proficiency in Microsoft Excel, and the ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy and discretion.Key ResponsibilitiesPrepare and process monthly customer invoicesProcess payments received through multiple payment methodsApply payments accurately to customer accountsResearch payment discrepancies, unapplied cash, and account variancesPrepare weekly accounts receivable aging reportsReview aging balances and identify potentially problematic accountsEscalate account concerns appropriately and support timely resolutionCommunicate with customers and internal business partners regarding account questionsResolve billing and payment issues to help minimize accounts receivable disputesMaintain accurate and current customer account informationPerform monthly account reconciliationsAssist with month-end close responsibilities and related accounting activitiesEvaluate current processes and recommend opportunities for improvementHandle sensitive financial and customer information confidentiallySupport additional accounting projects and ad hoc requests as neededQualificationsCollege degree or equivalent professional experience preferredThree or more years of customer service experience preferredPrevious experience in accounts receivable, cash application, billing, payment processing, or account reconciliation is highly desirableProficiency in Microsoft ExcelComfortable working with Windows-based programs and accounting systemsStrong written and verbal communication skillsExcellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracyAbility to work effectively in a collaborative, team-oriented environmentStrong problem-solving and account-research skillsAbility to manage confidential information professionally
