Position: Trajectory Engineer (Job ID: 4513) Location: Huntsville, ALRemote Status: On-Site Job Id: 4513 # of Openings: 1 Trajectory EngineerContingent upon prime contractor approvalPurpose:Valkyrie Enterprises has need for a Trajectory Engineer in Huntsville, AL to support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures Engineering DirectorateIn this role, you will provide critical engineering expertise to the team responsible for performing pre-mission trajectory validation and performance analysis for the for the flight test events along with onsite expertise during flight events.Job Description:Support the Missile Defense Agency (MDA) Targets and Countermeasures (TC) program office with development of ballistic missile target vehiclesSupport the TC System Engineering team in all aspects of target design, analysis, and test to include requirements development and assessment, modeling and simulation, test analysis and reportingTechnical focus areas include modeling and simulation, trajectory development and analysis, coordinate system transformations, and vehicle performance assessmentsGenerate and analyze target vehicle 6DOF trajectory dataSupport mission planning, analysis, and reporting activitiesCollaborate with a dynamic team of experts in multiple technical areas to develop analysis and engineering toolsEngage in database requirements definition, schema development, interface development, testing, data management, and documentationUtilize knowledge, skills and experience with missile characteristics (physical, kinematics, signatures) and engineering to support engineering activities and data product developmentQualifications:Must have a Bachelor's degree in STEM with at least 3 years of relevant experienceMust be proficient with MATLAB, Python, Java, C#, and other programming languagesMust have strong oral and written communication skillsMust be proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)Desired Qualifications:Familiarity with MDA and/or DoD programs and processesExperience with trajectory development tools (e.g., TAOS, POST)Experience in any or all the following disciplines: Design, CAD, Trajectory, Radar Cross Section (RCS) Signatures, Optical SignaturesStrong attention to detail and ability to efficiently perform multiple tasksAbility to communicate detailed technical information to technical and nSecurity Requirements:Active Secret security clearance, which requires US CitizenshipTravel Requirements:Minimal Travel; 15% or lessIf position requires travel by domestic flight or access to secure federal facilities/military bases, candidate must be able to obtain (by start of position) and maintain appropriate identification credentials, such as REAL ID.
