Computed Tomography TechnologistNestled on the Central California Coast, Adventist Health Sierra Vista has been providing care to our community since 1959. Our 162-bed acute care facility includes a Level III Neonatal Intensive Care Unit and county designated trauma center. Featuring a charming downtown, comfortable coastal weather, idyllic views, and an active lifestyle San Luis Obispo offers much to be had.Operates computed tomography (CT) equipment, producing cross-sectional images of patients' bones, organs and tissue that are used to diagnose medical conditions. Performs a variety of imaging procedures not limited to CT, including general radiography and fluoroscopy.Education and Work Experience: Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology: PreferredLicenses/Certifications: Registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists: R.T. (R)(CT)(ARRT) OR R.T. (R)(ARRT): Required Radiologic Tech (RT) in the state of practice: Required Advanced Certification in the modality of CT: Preferred Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: Required Fluoroscopy license in state of employment: Required Venipuncture certification: Preferred Fluoroscopy (FLUORO): Required Facility Specific License/Certifications: Basic Life Support (BLS) certification from approved vendor per AH policy: RequiredEssential Functions: Assesses, plans, implements and evaluates care for patients ranging in age from adolescence through geriatric. Produces sagittal and coronal reformatted images for radiologist interpretation. Uses PACS and teleradiology system to correctly transfer images to the appropriate location. Maintains accurate records, files and billing information. Ensures the integrity of patient medical images and data while adhering to Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act (HIPAA) and other patient confidentiality guidelines and regulations. Performs routine maintenance and calibration of equipment and manages supply inventory.
