HIM Specialist

The HIM Specialist is responsible for the release of medical information; assisting in the analysis and processing of incomplete medical records, distribution functions, completion of birth certificates, and processing of internal and external requests; provides assistance to the physicians in completion of records. Provides excellent customer service to all customers.

- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.- Two (2) years of college and/or other related course work, such as medical terminology, anatomy and physiology preferred.- RHIT (Registered Health Information Technician) credential preferred.- 1-3 years progressive Health Information Management experience preferred- Must have proficient computer skills.- Experience with an Electronic Medical Records system preferred.- Knowledge of Health Information Management software applications.- Must be customer-service oriented and able to effectively communicate and build relationships with Team Members at all levels in the organization.- Professionalism in interpersonal communication skills with patients, patient families, colleagues, physicians and ancillary department personnel is required.- Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills, to assist in providing exceptional care for our patients and their families.
