Job Description & Requirements Specialty: OR - Operating Room Discipline: RN Start Date: 09/21/2026 Duration: 13 weeks 40 hours per week Shift: 10 hours Employment Type: Travel Job Summary Operating Room Nurse specializing in surgical procedures at a healthcare facility. This position involves providing perioperative patient care, circulating and scrubbing in various surgical cases, including trauma, neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular surgeries. The role requires flexibility across multiple campuses and adherence to patient safety and clinical protocols. Job Details Certifications, Education Requirements, Degree Requirements, Location Requirements, and Years of Experience: Active Iowa (IA) license or multistate compact license, BLS (AHA) certification, 24 months of current operating room experience, experience in General, Davinci Robotics, Pediatrics, and Trauma surgeries required; additional experience in neurology, orthopedics, gynecology, urology, transplants, plastics, ENT, and vascular highly preferred; EPIC electronic medical systems experience within the previous 3 years required; trauma Level I experience highly preferred; trauma Level II experience required; no first-time travelers, must have completed a travel assignment within the previous 9 months. Schedule: Rotating shifts, 10 hours per shift, minimum of 40 hours per week. Additional Information: Must be willing to work 1-2 of the upcoming summer holidays (Memorial Day, Independence Day, Labor Day). The candidate will be required to float across all campuses, including Iowa Methodist MC, Iowa Lutheran, and Iowa Methodist. Scrub or circulate experience preferred. Expect an average caseload of 35-50 cases per day with turnovers less than 20 minutes. Use of 3 DaVinci robots, Stealth technology for neuro navigation, and Synthes or Stryker for ortho trauma is standard. The unit runs from 12 to 14 operating suites routinely, with Saturday and weekend call from the end of shift on Friday until 6:30 am Monday.
