Sonographer

Shawnee Health is seeking a Sonographer for our OBGYN office in Carbondale, Illinois. Position available Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday. Responsibilities Performing the ultrasound and ensuring the transducer (probe) is capturing images correctly Performs, documents and archived ultrasound studies according to applicable policy Facilitates creation of permanent DC of images from studies done on outside referrals from OBGYN physician for distribution to hose physicians Communicates with physicians on results of studies Maintains a Quality Assurance system in compliance with AIUM and maintains accreditation Explaining the ultrasound procedure to patients in order to avoid confusion Maintaining ultrasound equipment and sterilizing the room in which the procedure takes place per policy Spreading the ultrasound gel on the surface of the patient’s body to cover the internal area being imaged Evaluating the images for their quality, and interpreting what the image captured Document normal and abnormal pelvic anatomy. Perform and document Gyn Doppler studies. Assist with and providing ultrasound imaging for amniocentesis, saline infusion Hyster sonograms, and other procedures as needed. Describe ultrasound findings completely and accurately without making diagnoses or impressions in the description. Communicate with office staff, patients, and physicians. Physical Requirements Lifting at least 50 pounds Standing for prolonged periods of time Qualifications Must be competent in the use of computers Must be capable of independent problem solving with moderate to little supervision Must be able to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing Preferred Bi-lingual Compensation Starting salary - Compensation $35 Per Scan Benefits Not Eligible for Benefits #J-18808-Ljbffr
