Cardiac Sonographer (Echo Tech)

We are currently seeking a Cardiac Sonographer to join our CSC Echo Cardiography department. This part-time (0.9 FTE) position will work rotating days, evenings, and on-call. The purpose of this position is to conduct a variety of technical procedures in the application of high frequency diagnostic ultrasound to patients for diagnosis of heart disease. A $10,000 hiring incentive is available for eligible external candidates.

Responsibilities include performing echocardiograms and managing the imaging system during a transesophageal echocardiogram using state-of-the-art methods and equipment, performing exercise and pharmacological echocardiograms proficiently, reviewing and verifying exam requests, explaining exam procedures to patients and family members, evaluating images and notifying the appropriate Cardiologist as needed, consistently performing quality exams, ensuring department protocols are followed, administering contrast imaging agents to patients, performing measurements and analyzing results of echocardiograms, assisting physicians and residents with ECHO procedures, assisting with education and training of nursing and medical staff, residents and cardiology fellows, mentoring and orienting new employees, cleaning, maintaining and troubleshooting imaging equipment, ensuring exam rooms are orderly and stocked with supplies, participating in quality improvement processes, building and supporting a collaborative team environment, participating in the implementation and performance of safety and quality assurance procedures, attending QA conferences as able, participating in research activities, reporting and discussing any malfunctions, and notifying the Lead Cardiac Sonographer.

Qualifications include a two-year degree in non-invasive cardiology, experience in Stress Echo is preferred. License/Certifications include being credentialed by the American Registry of Diagnostic Medical Sonographers (ARDMS) as a Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer (RDCS) -OR- credentialed by Cardiovascular Credentialing International (CCI) as a Registered Cardiac Sonographer (RCS) -OR- meeting the eligibility requirements to take the ARDMS/CCI examination within 12 months of hire date.
