Accounting Specialist

Accounting SpecialistThe Accounting Specialist is responsible for performing a variety of accounting duties at Northwest Bank. These duties include accounts payable tasks, general accounting tasks, posting information, entering and adjusting purchase orders, processing payments, compiling payment information when requested, solving problems, and providing excellent customer service.Essential FunctionsProcess checks and ACH for bill payment when neededFind, update, or assign invoices when needed in WorkdayEnsure compliance with third party vendorsApply and adjust purchase orders to invoicesPost items to AccountsResearch and correct posting errorsProcess adjustmentsPlace stops and voidsReconcile bank accounts when neededIdentify and resolve specific account/spend category problemsAssist with quarterly SOX control requestsCompile monthly closing information when requestedCompile segments of annual reports when requestedPrepare statistics and reportsOpen, sort, distribute and action accounts payable mailAdditional Essential FunctionsEnsure compliance with Northwest's policies and procedures, and Federal/State regulationsNavigate Microsoft Office Software, computer applications, and software specific to the department in order to maximize technology tools and gain efficiencyWork as part of a teamWork with on-site equipmentWhat You Bring to the TeamComplete other duties and special projects as assigned by management Safety and Health for those without supervisory dutiesAbide by the rules of the safety and loss prevention programPerform work tasks in a safe mannerReport any and all injuries to supervisorKnow what to do in case of an emergencyQUALIFICATIONSTo perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
