Position: Chief Financial Officer (CFO)

Summary:

The Chief Financial Officer (CFO) serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for driving the company’s overall financial strategy, long-term growth, and operational excellence. This role provides strategic oversight of all accounting, financial planning, reporting, and risk management functions across a multi-unit restaurant organization. The CFO partners closely with the CEO and senior leadership to shape business strategy, optimize financial performance, and ensure scalable infrastructure to support continued expansion.

In addition to executive leadership responsibilities, the CFO maintains oversight of core accounting functions — including general accounting, fixed assets, lease accounting, and restaurant accounting — ensuring accurate financial reporting, strong internal controls, and efficient close processes. The role also serves as the executive sponsor for financial systems, including ERP platforms such as Sage Intacct, driving continuous improvement and digital transformation initiatives.

  Key Responsibilities:

• Strategic Financial Leadership:
  Develop and execute the company’s financial strategy, aligning capital allocation, cost structure, and growth initiatives with long-term business objectives.
• Executive Partnership:
  Act as a trusted advisor to the CEO and executive team, providing financial insights that inform decision-making, expansion strategies, and operational improvements.
• Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A):
  Lead forecasting, budgeting, and long-range planning processes to support scalable growth across a 500+ unit restaurant portfolio.
• Operational & Accounting Oversight:
  Provide executive oversight of accounting functions, including monthly close, consolidations, revenue recognition, cost management, and financial reporting accuracy.
• Capital & Investment Strategy:
  Oversee capital expenditures, lease strategies, and investment decisions to maximize ROI and support new unit growth and infrastructure expansion.
• Risk Management & Compliance:
  Ensure robust internal controls, regulatory compliance, and risk mitigation strategies across all financial operations.
• Systems & Transformation Leadership:
  Serve as executive sponsor for financial systems (e.g., Sage Intacct), leading system enhancements, integrations, and process automation to improve scalability and data visibility.
• Cross-Functional Leadership:
  Partner with operations, IT, procurement, and brand leadership to drive efficiency, cost optimization, and performance improvements.
• Team Leadership & Development:
  Lead, mentor, and scale a high-performing finance and accounting organization, fostering a culture of accountability, innovation, and continuous improvement.

  Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field; CPA required, MBA preferred.
• 15+ years of progressive financial leadership experience, including senior executive or CFO-level responsibilities.
• Proven experience in multi-unit, high-growth environments (restaurant, retail, or similar industries preferred).
• Strong expertise in financial strategy, FP&A, capital management, and operational finance.
• Experience leading ERP systems (e.g., Sage Intacct) implementations and financial transformation initiatives.
• Demonstrated ability to influence executive stakeholders and communicate effectively at the board level.
• Track record of building and leading high-performing teams in fast-paced, complex organizations.
• Strong business acumen with the ability to balance strategic vision and operational execution.
• Collaborative leadership style with a strong service-oriented mindset and the ability to drive cross-functional alignment.
