What You’ll Do

As a Shift Lead, you’ll be the heartbeat of our Scoop Shop operations. You’ll work alongside our Scoopers, ensuring every shift runs smoothly and every customer leaves with a smile. Here’s a glimpse of your key responsibilities:

• Open and close the Scoop Shop, ensuring everything is up to MELT standards.
• Lead pre-shift huddles and complete daily shift documentation.
• Oversee daily, weekly, and monthly checklists to keep the shop running like clockwork.
• Train new team members using MELT’s structured processes and hands-on learning.
• Manage team morale, provide coaching, and course-correct when needed.
• Serve and engage with customers, offering samples, recommendations, and an upbeat experience.
• Prepare and serve a variety of products, from housemade waffle cones to milkshakes.
• Handle cashier duties using our POS system and ensure accuracy in orders.
• Restock and clean the shop to maintain our high standards.
• Approach challenges with a positive mindset and contribute creative ideas to improve operations.

What It Takes to Rock the Job

We’re looking for someone who embodies MELT’s mission and values. Here’s what makes a great Shift Lead:

• At least 1 year of experience in food service, retail, or customer service (preferred).
• A positive, upbeat attitude and a passion for creating happy experiences.
• Goal-oriented, self-driven, and reliable.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• A team player who’s kind, caring, and willing to learn.
• Problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt during peak hours.
