Family Meal Chef

Reporting to the Kitchen Manager and Le Crocodile CDC the Family Meal Chef will be responsible for planning, preparing, and serving nutritious and delicious meals for our hotel staff twice daily. This role requires creativity in menu planning, efficiency in production, and the ability to work within budget constraints while minimizing waste and utilizing surplus ingredients from our various food outlets.

• Prepare two staff meals daily (breakfast at 9am on the weekends, 10am during the week and dinner at 3:30pm)
• Develop weekly menu plans that are varied, balanced, and appealing
• Coordinate with kitchen teams from Le Crocodile, Bar Blondeau, and Events to repurpose and utilize excess ingredients
• Adapt menus to accommodate various dietary restrictions and preferences
• Manage food costs while maintaining high standards of quality and presentation
• Ensure proper food handling, storage, and sanitation standards
• Maintain a clean and organized workspace
• Contribute to a positive kitchen culture that values teamwork and respect

• 2+ years of experience in a professional kitchen environment
• Strong culinary fundamentals with the ability to work across different cuisines
• Experience with high-volume food production
• Excellent organizational skills and ability to manage time effectively
• Creative problem-solving abilities when working with available ingredients
• Knowledge of proper food handling and safety procedures
• Understanding of various dietary restrictions and the ability to create inclusive menus
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with the broader culinary team
• Passion for nourishing and delighting others through food
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must be able to work on your feet for up to an excess of 8 hours
