Payroll SpecialistThe Payroll Specialist is responsible for the accurate and timely processing of assigned payrolls while ensuring compliance with company policies and applicable federal, state, provincial, and local regulations. Our culture is built on shared values and mutual respect, where teamwork and collaboration occur naturally.Throughout our rich history, we have partnered with utilities, municipalities, commercial clients, and developers to deliver some of the largest and most complex projects, including new construction, upgrades, maintenance and repair for transmission, distribution and substation facilities, commercial and industrial electrical construction, emergency and storm restoration, clean energy, pre-construction services, and engineer-procure-construct (EPC) methods of project delivery.Essential FunctionsProcess assigned payrolls accurately and within established payroll schedulesProcess employee payroll changes, including new hires, terminations, tax withholding, direct deposit, earnings, deductions, garnishments, and other payroll updatesPrepare manual checks and off-cycle payroll adjustments as neededResearch and resolve routine payroll discrepanciesRetrieve data for audit requestsAssist with payroll audits and reconciliationsProcess and maintain wage garnishments, child support orders, tax levies, and other involuntary deductions in accordance with applicable laws, court orders, and company policiesSupport payroll team members with administrative tasks, data entry, reporting, filing, and special projects as assignedMaintain confidentiality of employee payroll information and comply with company policies regarding sensitive dataProvide cross-functional support to ensure continuity of payroll operations during peak processing periods or staff absencesOther duties as assignedRegular and predictable attendance.Essential functions of this position are to be performed at a Company-designated office or field locationUnderstand and comply with the Company's Code of Business Conduct and Ethics Policy and other industry-specific professional and ethical standardsQualificationsTwo (2) or more years of payroll, accounting, finance, or related experienceExperience with Oracle Cloud HCM, JD Edwards (E1), Construction Monkey, or similar payroll systems preferredPreferred EducationHigh school diploma or equivalent requiredAssociate's degree in Accounting, Business, Human Resources, or related field is preferredKnowledge/Skills/AbilitiesWorking knowledge of payroll processing, payroll regulations, wage and hour requirements, and payroll calculationsWorking knowledge of payroll systems, timekeeping, garnishments, and employee maintenanceBasic understanding of payroll auditing principlesPayroll processing and data analysis skillsProblem-solving and troubleshooting skillsCustomer service and communication skillsProficiency with Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office applicationsTime management and organization skillsAbility to process payroll accurately while meeting deadlinesAbility to analyze payroll discrepancies and resolve routine issuesAbility to interpret payroll policies and proceduresAbility to maintain confidentialityWhat We OfferCompensation & BenefitsSalary $37,772 - 70,149 / yearCommensurate with experience, paid weekly. Posted salary ranges are made in good faith.
