Assistant Editor

Professional Sports Publications is seeking an Assistant Editor to join an editorial department that produces licensed sports publications and industry-focused marketing periodicals. This will be a full-time, in-person position based out of our Manhattan office. Responsibilities Editing copy, fact‑checking, organizing and proofing layouts Organizing various text and photo assets Communicating and coordinating with clients Photo research and procurement Proofing advertisements Researching and occasional writing of sports statistics/stories Desired Skills Working knowledge of desktop publishing suite: Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, Acrobat Strong background in research Excellent written and verbal communication skills Editorial eye for detail Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines AP Style and general sports knowledge preferred Familiarity with book production and prepress process Salary: $45,000 per year + benefits.
