SENIOR POWER BI ANALYST 

Our client is seeking a  Senior Power BI Analyst to join its growing Enterprise Data & Analytics team. This is an outstanding opportunity for an experienced analytics professional who is passionate about transforming enterprise data into meaningful business insights.

The ideal candidate will have extensive experience developing enterprise Power BI reporting solutions, designing data models, building executive dashboards, and partnering with business leaders to deliver actionable analytics. Experience with  Matillion is a significant plus, and hands-on development experience with SQL and modern data platforms is highly desirable.

Position Overview

The Senior Power BI Analyst serves as a technical and functional expert responsible for designing, developing, and supporting enterprise reporting, dashboards, and business intelligence solutions. This role partners closely with Finance, Supply Chain, Operations, Sales, Human Resources, and IT leadership to deliver scalable reporting and analytics that improve business performance and decision-making.

The successful candidate combines strong business acumen with advanced Power BI expertise and a passion for turning complex data into executive-level insights.

Key Responsibilities

Business Intelligence & Analytics

• Design, develop, and maintain enterprise Power BI dashboards, scorecards, and executive reporting solutions.
• Deliver interactive visualizations that provide actionable business insights.
• Partner with business stakeholders to understand reporting requirements and translate them into scalable BI solutions.
• Analyze business processes and identify opportunities to improve reporting and operational visibility.
• Develop KPIs, metrics, and performance dashboards for executive leadership.

Power BI Development

• Build and maintain enterprise Power BI reports and dashboards.
• Develop advanced data models using Power BI best practices.
• Create DAX measures, calculated columns, and custom visualizations.
• Develop Power Query (M) transformations for data preparation.
• Optimize report performance, scalability, and usability.
• Implement Row-Level Security (RLS) and governance standards.

Data Integration & Data Warehousing

• Work with enterprise data sources across ERP, financial, operational, and cloud applications.
• Collaborate with Data Engineering teams to support enterprise data warehouse initiatives.
• Assist with ETL/ELT processes and data transformation.
• Leverage Matillion to build and support cloud-based data pipelines and modern analytics architectures (highly preferred).
• Validate data accuracy and maintain enterprise data quality standards.

Business Partnership

• Collaborate with Finance, Accounting, Supply Chain, Procurement, Sales, Operations, HR, and Executive Leadership.
• Conduct requirements gathering sessions and analytics workshops.
• Translate business questions into meaningful reporting solutions.
• Present findings and recommendations to technical and non-technical stakeholders.
• Support strategic planning through advanced analytics and reporting.

Data Governance & Reporting Standards

• Promote enterprise reporting standards and governance.
• Ensure data consistency across reports and dashboards.
• Maintain documentation for data models, reporting solutions, and business definitions.
• Support security and compliance requirements related to enterprise reporting.

Continuous Improvement

• Identify opportunities to automate manual reporting processes.
• Recommend new visualization techniques and reporting improvements.
• Evaluate emerging Microsoft Power Platform and AI capabilities.
• Stay current on Power BI enhancements, Fabric, Copilot, and cloud analytics technologies.

Required Qualifications

• 7–10+ years of Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, or Power BI experience.
• 5+ years of hands-on Power BI development experience.
• Extensive experience developing executive dashboards and enterprise reporting.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience gathering business requirements and translating them into reporting solutions.
• Advanced experience with:

• Strong SQL development and query optimization skills.
• Experience working with ERP and enterprise business systems.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Analytics, Business, Finance, or a related field preferred.
• Experience with Matillion ETL/ELT (strongly preferred).
• Experience with Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Platform.
• Development experience with SQL, Python, or other scripting languages.
• Experience supporting cloud data warehouse environments such as Snowflake, Azure Synapse, Amazon Redshift, or SQL Server.
• Experience with Power Automate or the Microsoft Power Platform.
• Knowledge of Finance, Supply Chain, Procurement, Distribution, Manufacturing, or Logistics operations.
• Experience supporting ERP platforms such as JD Edwards, SAP, Oracle, or Microsoft Dynamics.
• Familiarity with AI-enabled analytics and predictive reporting.
