Folder Gluer Operator (2nd Shift) - Plant 7

Job Overview Belmark is a leader in pressure‑sensitive labels, folding cartons, and flexible packaging. Responsible for setup and operation of a folder gluer machine that converts printed tag stock into packaging components or cartons. Tasks include dispensing tag stock onto conveyor, applying adhesive, folding tag stock on crease lines, ensuring adhesive dries, and inspecting and packaging the finished product. Shift Schedule 1st Shift: 6:00 AM – 2:00 PM, Monday – Friday. 2nd Shift: 2:00 PM – 12:00 AM, Monday – Thursday. Pay $20.80 per hour plus overtime. Responsibilities Read and comprehend job order instructions. Locate tag stock, inspect, and stage. Setup and adjust the following: infeed system, conveying belt, conveying rollers, guide bars, glue applicator system, and exit belt system. Troubleshoot all problem areas. Package products into boxes. Clean the machine and the surrounding area. Communicate job status with appropriate departments. Perform other duties as assigned by a supervisor. Minimum Qualifications Strong mechanical aptitude. Good problem‑solving skills. Ability to read, comprehend, and follow simple written and oral instructions. Fluent in the English language. Regular attendance is essential; overtime may be required. Ability to perform basic arithmetic with whole numbers, decimals, and fractions. Ability to give, receive, and analyze information. High school education or equivalent (two years). Ability to meet deadlines. Requires nearly constant concentration and attention to detail. Sight and visual discrimination abilities as described. Ability to stand and walk for 90 % of work time; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl for 10 % of work time. Ability to use hands for 100 % of work time; reach above shoulders for 30 % of work time; use feet to operate machines for 30 % of work time. Ability to lift corrugated boxes weighing up to 50 pounds at a rate of 60 boxes per hour. Ability to grasp a 10‑inch stack of blank cartons and transfer at a rate of 20,000 cartons per hour. Ability to grasp a 4‑inch stack of blank cartons and transfer at a rate of 20,000 cartons per hour. Ability to use screwdrivers, wrenches, hammers, and pliers. May be asked to lift up to 100 pounds or more. Working Conditions Work near moving mechanical parts and continuous belt conveyors; long hair must be constrained. Exposure to vibrations, noise, and chemical odors.
