Employee Benefits Account Manager

This is a hybrid position that will require up to 3 days per week in our Richardson, Texas office. Role Overview The Employee Benefits Account Manager – Small Group Health & Individual Disability/Life is responsible for managing and servicing a portfolio of small group employee benefits and individual disability/life clients, primarily dentists and dental practices. The role partners closely with producers, carriers, and internal teams to deliver high‑quality service, ensure compliance, and support renewals and ongoing client needs. Responsibilities Serve as the primary day‑to‑day contact for assigned small group employee benefits and individual disability/life clients. Manage renewals for groups, including gathering census data, preparing renewal comparisons, and supporting plan design discussions. Coordinate with carriers on quotes, underwriting, enrollments, eligibility updates, billing issues, and plan changes. Support open enrollment activities, including employee materials, carrier coordination, and implementation timelines. Handle ongoing service needs such as eligibility changes, terminations, new hires, and claims or billing inquiries. Quote, submit tickets, take applications, and support underwriting process for individual disability and term life policies. Ensure compliance with applicable regulations including ACA, ERISA, and COBRA. Maintain accurate documentation and client records in agency management systems. Partner with producers and internal teams to deliver a seamless client experience. Identify opportunities to improve processes, enhance service delivery, and support client retention. Qualifications 2+ years of experience in employee benefits within an insurance brokerage or agency environment. Experience supporting small group (2–99 lives) clients strongly preferred. Familiarity with fully insured benefit plans including medical, dental, vision, and ancillary coverages, as well as individual disability/term life insurance. Working knowledge of employee benefits compliance and enrollment processes. Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple accounts and deadlines. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and Outlook. Experience with Applied Epic preferred. Active Life & Health insurance license. What Success Looks Like Clients feel supported, informed, and confident in their benefits programs. Renewals are handled accurately, proactively, and on time. Strong collaboration with producers and internal partners. High attention to detail with consistent follow‑through. Ability to manage volume while maintaining high‑quality service.
