Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Job Summary

We are seeking a motivated and skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will deliver high-quality nursing care to patients in a telemetry unit, ensuring optimal patient outcomes and safety.

Key Responsibilities

Provide comprehensive nursing care to patients with various cardiac conditions, including congestive heart failure, hypertension, and chest pain.
Monitor and assess patient health status and vital signs, interpreting telemetry data effectively.
Administer medications and manage titratable drips as per established protocols.
Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to develop and implement individualized patient care plans.
Participate in patient and family education regarding diagnosis, treatment, and care plan.
Engage in ongoing professional development and education in cardiac care.

Qualifications

Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience in a telemetry unit or related area.
Current certifications: ACLS (AHA) and BLS (AHA).
Proficient in administering cardiac drips and managing post-catheterization patients.
Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Work Schedule

This position requires night shifts with a minimum of six weekend shifts scheduled within a six-week period. Flexibility to float to other units within the nursing care framework may be required.

Work Environment

The Telemetry unit comprises a supportive team structure, including dedicated monitor techs and nurse aides. The nurse-to-patient ratio is approximately 1:5 during night shifts, allowing for focused patient care.

Dress Code

Registered Nurses are expected to wear Caribbean blue scrubs while on duty.

Orientation

A comprehensive orientation will be provided, with specific dates and locations communicated prior to the start date.
