Schedule: Monday – Friday | 8:30am – 5:00pm
Type: Full-Time | In-person

Express Employment Professionals is hiring an  Experienced Accountant  on behalf of one of our clients in the Hill District. We are seeking motivated accounting professional with strong nonprofit accounting experience who is looking to make an immediate impact within a growing organization. 

This position involves managing full-cycle accounting operations, financial reporting, budgeting, compliance, and audit preparation. The ideal candidate will be detail-oriented, organized, and comfortable working directly with leadership teams while maintaining accurate financial records and ensuring regulatory compliance. 

Job Responsibilities: 

• Manage full-cycle accounting operations including general ledger, accounts receivable, accounts payable, and financial reporting
• Prepare and present monthly and annual financial statements 
• Oversee restricted and unrestricted fund accounting
• Develop and monitor annual budgets and analyze financial variances 
• Lead audit preparation and coordinate with external auditors
• Ensure compliance with IRS regulations, Form 990 reporting, and grant requirements 
• Record financial data into QuickBooks (i.e. accounts receivable, accounts payable, revenue and expenses) 
• Perform bank reconciliations 
• Post journal entries
• Generate financial statement and variance reports 
• Respond to client inquires 
• Perform financial analysis and forecasting 
• Create financial dashboard templates
• Develop internal control procedures 
• Formalize reconciliation procedures 
• Prove written summaries of financial variances 
• Make recommendations regarding policies, procedures, and best practices 
• Other duties as assigned 

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or related field 
• Minimum 5 years of accounting experience (required)
• Minimum 3 years of QuickBooks experience (required) 
• Experience with nonprofit accounting preferred 
• Knowledge of form 990 reporting and grant compliance preferred 
• QuickBooks certification required
