Position Psychological Services Associate 2 – Bedford‑Somerset Developmental & Behavioral Health Services (DBHS); Somerset County Outpatient Program. Responsibilities Provide individual, family, couples, and group counseling to people of all ages using professional techniques. Collaborate with clients to develop strengths‑based treatment plans and document progress, treatment plans, and coordination of care notes. Perform therapy diagnostic evaluations to determine counseling or psychiatric service needs. Coordinate care with internal teams, external agencies, and crisis intervention staff to ensure high‑quality services, perform crisis assessments, and refer appropriately. Complete on‑site assessments and provide group, individual, and play therapy to children and adolescents in school; offer mental health consultation and education to school personnel and community agencies. Lead outpatient group therapy sessions focused on topics that promote self‑care, self‑management, and self‑recovery. Schedule and Additional Information Full‑time employment; work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday‑Friday, with a 30‑minute lunch. Hours may be adjusted as needed for evening appointments or other work demands. New staff are on probation for six months; eligible for a hybrid on‑site/remote schedule after three months. Qualifications One year of experience as a Psychological Services Associate 1; or one year of professional experience in psychological services work combined with a master’s degree in psychology or a closely related field. PA residency requirement is currently waived for this title. Ability to perform essential job functions. Legal Requirements Must pass a background investigation. This position falls under the provisions of the Older Adult Protective Services Act, requiring satisfactory criminal history reports including PA State Police and FBI clearance. This position falls under the provisions of the Child Protective Services Law, requiring satisfactory criminal history reports including PA State Police clearance, PA Child Abuse history clearance, and FBI fingerprint clearance.
