Service Advisor

Hendrick Buick GMC Cadillac (Cary) Location: 115 Team Hendrick Way, Cary, North Carolina 27511 Summary Responsible for selling, identifying, documenting, and scheduling service, maintenance, and repair for customers. No direct supervisory responsibilities. Essential Duties and Responsibilities Work with customer and technician to identify required maintenance. Advise customers on necessary and recommended services. Offer additional services and repairs to customers. Compute cost of replacement parts and labor to restore vehicle to the customer’s specified condition. Estimate cost of mechanical, electrical, or other repairs. Enter itemized estimates on service orders and explain them to customers. Schedule appointments with customers. Meet dealership standards for repair and order production. Maintain CSI at or above company standards. Maintain an organized, clean, and safe work area. Participate in required training. Record all hours worked accurately in the company timekeeping system. Follow safeguards rules and regulations. Demonstrate the company’s core values. Comply with company policies, procedures, and safety rules. Perform additional duties as assigned. Qualifications Previous experience in automotive or customer service industries. Working knowledge of the mechanical operations of vehicles. Excellent interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills. Ability to read and comprehend written instructions, correspondence, and memos. Effective communication skills with customers and company personnel. Reliable attendance; shifts may include evenings, weekends, and holidays. Education GED or High School Diploma. Associate, Bachelor, Master, or Doctorate degree (desired). Desired Work Experience Up to 3 years. 3-5 years. 5+ years. Certificates and Licenses Valid Driver’s License. Automobile Salesperson License. Computer Skills Intermediate skills in Microsoft Office products. Knowledge of the Dealership Management System and other web‑based applications used for operations. Physical & Environmental Demands Regularly required to talk or hear. Frequently required to stand, walk, and sit. Possible exposure to load noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service‑repair conditions. Work performed in the service area; may conduct road tests.
