Location: Fort Worth, TX Work Arrangement: On-site (Hybrid flexibility available following onboarding) Employment Type: Full-Time Overview Carter Rolan Group are partnering with a highly respected and rapidly growing construction and manufacturing business to appoint a Construction Controller into a key leadership position. This isn't simply a Controller role focused on month-end close. This is an opportunity to become the financial leader within a business experiencing significant growth, partnering directly with the CFO and senior leadership team to shape financial strategy, improve operational performance and build the finance function for the future. You'll oversee the entire accounting operation while working closely with project teams to improve profitability, strengthen reporting and provide meaningful commercial insight across a diverse portfolio of construction and manufacturing operations. What You'll Be Doing Lead and develop the Accounting team across General Ledger, Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable and Financial Reporting. Take ownership of the month-end, quarter-end and year-end close process. Prepare accurate US GAAP financial statements and executive reporting. Drive budgeting, forecasting and financial planning across the business. Partner with operational leaders to improve project profitability and financial performance. Analyse WIP schedules, percentage-of-completion accounting, job costing and contract performance. Strengthen internal controls, accounting policies and financial processes. Lead cash flow management, forecasting and working capital initiatives. Coordinate annual audits and tax compliance with external advisors. Build dashboards and deliver financial insights that support strategic business decisions. Act as a trusted advisor to the CFO and executive leadership team. What You'll Need to Succeed Bachelor's Degree in Accounting or Finance. CPA preferred. 10+ years of progressive accounting experience. Previous Controller experience within a construction, manufacturing or project-based environment. Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial reporting. Extensive experience with: Percentage-of-Completion (POC) Accounting Work-in-Progress (WIP) Reporting Job Costing Contract Accounting Proven experience leading and developing accounting teams. Excellent communication skills with the ability to partner with both finance and operational leaders.
