Sales Manager Position

Segers Aero Corporation located in Fairhope, AL is seeking a Sales Manager to join our Sales team. We offer a competitive benefits package and a 9/80 work schedule that includes every other Friday off.

Purpose of position: To call on existing and potential customers to establish new accounts, obtain orders and see those orders fulfilled in a timely manner for Engines and Major Modules. Responsible for South American accounts, North American accounts, and accounts in Europe, the East and Far East. Manage CSRs as needed.

Essential Functions: (must be able to perform these functions, with or without reasonable accommodation):

• Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing to call on existing or potential opportunities.
• Monitors the competition by gathering current marketplace information on pricing, turn time, products, delivery schedules, merchandising techniques, etc.
• Prepares proposals and negotiates contracts in a timely manner.
• Recommends changes in products, services, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
• Trains, coaches, and develops employees as necessary to ensure goals are met and proper procedures and policies are followed.
• Addresses conflicts and strives to resolve them in a positive manner that benefits all parties and facilitates healthy work relationships.
• Responsible for completing employee check-in meetings, performance reviews, and documenting work performance.
• Responsible for coaching, counseling, and holding employees accountable as required.
• Timely completes, approves, and adjusts time and attendance/labor reporting as required.
• Works as a team with all Sales and Operations members to drive and promote Segers Aero Corporation as a world-class MRO shop.
• Keeps the team informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as, weekly plans, and monthly and annual customer analyses.
• Participates in annual forecasting process and supports strategic planning process.
• Travels by airplane and automobile (up to 50%) to meet with clients and attend industry events.
• Works when scheduled and complies with company attendance policy
• Works overtime as needed
• Observes and practices all safety procedures and personal policies (e.g. Safety-glasses, ear plugs, face shields etc.)
• Performs other duties as required.

Skills, knowledge and abilities: (these are required to enable job holder to perform the essential functions of the job):

• Must be able to maintain an effective working relationship with, and among co-workers and supervisors.
• Ability to travel extensively, up to 50% to meet with clients and attend industry events.
• Must be a self-starter, show initiative, and be able to work with no supervision.
• Must be able to use applied knowledge to formulate positive solutions to problem situations.
• Must be able to effectively read, write, and communicate in English.
• Must be able to write proposals, in English, with minimal errors.
• Must have intermediate computer skills including the use of company software and Microsoft Office products.
• Must be able to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using fractions and decimals.
• Must be able to work well under pressure and manage priorities.
• Must be able to demonstrate organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Must be able to lift and carry up to 25 lbs. occasionally.
• Must be able to see within normal range with or without corrective lenses.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods of time while using hands, fingers and wrists repetitively on a computer keyboard.
• Must be able to stand and walk throughout the day.
• Ability to provide verification of US citizenship or permanent residency to satisfy ITAR/EAR restrictions.

Experience and Education Requirements: High School Diploma or GED and six years of experience in aviation sales and marketing or an Associate's degree and five years of experience in aviation sales and marketing or a Bachelor's degree and four years of experience in aviation sales and marketing or a Masters Degree and three years of experience in aviation sales is required. Leadership experience is a plus. Must have a valid driver's license and be insurable through the company's insurance carrier. Must pass a criminal background check and drug screen.

Work conditions: Works in an office environment with occasional visits to the plant area with moving machinery and loud noises.
