Job Role: Technical Developer

Expectations from this role include developing technical documents such as Functional Design Specifications and Deployment documentation. You will perform design document reviews, peer code reviews, and suggest code improvements. As a single point of contact for build and deployment issues, you will resolve them on time. You will learn technology, business/system domain, and contribute to ERP/CRM Practice related activities like assembling content for case studies, contributing to reusability, coordinating internal seminars, and conducting knowledge sharing sessions. You will select appropriate technical options for development, identify problem patterns, and improve the technical design of the application/system. You will optimize efficiency, cost, and quality, and act creatively to develop applications and select appropriate technical options. You will interpret the application/feature/component design to develop the same in accordance with specifications, code, debug, test, and document and communicate product/component/feature development stages. You will validate results with user representatives, integrate, and commission the overall solution. You will influence and improve customer satisfaction through offering suggestions for code refactoring and improvements in business processes. You will influence and improve employee engagement within the project teams and set goals in NorthStar and measure progress accordingly.

Typical performance measures include the number of applicable technical/domain certifications completed, adherence to process and standards, average time taken for turnaround on production bugs, adherence to schedule and timelines, and the number of Junior Leads who were guided and unskilled to lead a technical team.

Performance areas include understanding requirements/user stories, creating and providing inputs for effort and size estimation, following scrum ceremonies, contributing to the creation of design, defining coding standards, performing code review, creating and reviewing unit test cases, managing defects, managing projects, creating/reviewing templates, checklists, guidelines, standards for design/process/development, creating/reviewing deliverable documents, reporting status of tasks assigned, complying with project related reporting standards and process, managing knowledge, executing and monitoring the release process, and interfacing with customers.

Knowledge examples include functional and technical designing on various ERP/CRM cloud platform features and automations, thorough knowledge of coding best practices, experience using data loading tools, experience on production deployment and solving deployment errors, knowledge of Agile Methods - Scrum and Kanban, and experience in integration with external systems using SOAP API, REST API, etc.
