Medical Billing Representative

Southwestern Healthcare is currently seeking a Full-Time Medical Billing Representative to add to our team. Resolves routine patient billing inquiries and problems. Follows up on balances past due from insurance companies and patients. Reads and interprets transactional data within patient accounts.Comprehends Electronic Data Interchange (EDI) functionality and the general progression of data in the practice management system (PMS) and EDI systems. Understands and resolves payer edits and/or rejections.Demonstrates knowledge of medical terminology, CPT, ICD-10, CCI edits, and HIPAA regulations.Performs extensive account follow up activities utilizing the PMS. Investigates, analyzes and resolves problematic and delinquent accounts.
