Welder

Schedule:
6:00AM to 2:30PM, Monday through Friday.

Pay Rate: $18-$19/hr

Key Responsibilities
• Follow all Nelson Global standards, policies, and safety procedures
• Perform MIG welding on stainless and mild steel materials
• Weld unfamiliar parts using full-scale drawings
• Fabricate parts from drawings, samples, or instructions with minimal supervision
• Inspect finished products to ensure accuracy and quality
• Communicate effectively with other departments as needed
• Maintain a clean and organized work area

Qualifications and Skills
• Working knowledge of welding equipment and ability to troubleshoot and adjust as needed
• Ability to read blueprints and full-scale drawings
• Basic math skills, including decimals and percentages
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Basic computer skills
• Knowledge of common materials and inspection tools
• Understanding of routine production procedures, including loading/unloading parts and quality checks
• Good verbal and written communication skills

Education and Experience
• Minimum of 1 year of welding experience required
• MIG and/or TIG welding experience preferred
• Must successfully pass a welding test as part of the hiring process

Physical Requirements
• Ability to lift, push, and pull materials throughout the shift
• Lift up to 30 lbs consistently and up to 50 lbs occasionally
• Stand, walk, bend, and stoop for extended periods
• Maintain continuous mental and visual focus
• Work in hot, cold, and noisy environments with exposure to fumes, dust, and odors
• Overtime and schedule adjustments may be required to meet production needs
• Required PPE includes safety glasses, ear protection (as needed), and steel-toed boots
