Work Environment

This position is based in a home care setting, meaning you will engage with patients in their own environments, offering personalized care that fits their lifestyle and recovery needs. The physical therapist will collaborate closely with other healthcare professionals and support staff to deliver comprehensive care. Our work schedule is Monday to Friday, from 9 AM to 5 PM, providing a consistent routine that benefits both our patients and staff.

Key Responsibilities

• Perform comprehensive evaluations of patients' physical capabilities, paying close attention to mobility, strength, and function as part of an initial assessment and ongoing evaluations.
• Develop individualized treatment plans based on assessment findings, ensuring to set realistic, attainable goals for both short-term and long-term recovery.
• Implement the Plan of Treatment with adherence to evidence-based practices, making adjustments as necessary based on patient progress and response to therapy.
• Consistently document and monitor patient progress in accordance with medical guidelines and facility standards, ensuring thorough communication with both patients and healthcare teams.
• Engage in continual education to maintain clinical excellence, including attending workshops, pursuing advanced learning opportunities, and participating in professional development.
• Support a clean and effective rehabilitation environment by assisting with equipment setup, maintenance, and ensuring compliance with health regulations.

Patient Population / Client Focus

As an orthopedic physical therapist at PT Plus, you will work with a varied patient demographic, including adults recovering from surgeries, injuries, and chronic conditions affecting mobility. You will utilize a wide range of treatment modalities and therapeutic exercises that are specifically tailored to each patient's unique circumstances and recovery goals.

Qualifications

• A Bachelor's Degree in Physical Therapy from an accredited institution is required; Master's or Doctorate degrees are preferred.
• A valid and active Physical Therapy license in the state of Virginia.
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification, including AED.
• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills with a strong emphasis on empathy and motivation in patient interactions.
• Knowledge of rehabilitation equipment and its responsible use in therapeutic exercises.

Preferred Experience

• At least 2 years of clinical experience in providing orthopedic physical therapy, demonstrating a strong grasp of rehabilitation strategies and patient engagement.
• Experience working within a home care setting is a plus, offering insight into individualized patient therapies in the context of their daily lives.

Compensation and Benefits

The salary range for this position is competitive, offering between USD 90,000 and 100,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
