About the Role
The Company is seeking a Vice President for Underwriting and Product Development and Delivery in Commercial Lines. This executive will be responsible for driving underwriting excellence, product development, and enhancement within the standard commercial casualty and business auto lines. The role involves creating and implementing strategic and operational objectives, leading a team of directors and product managers, and collaborating with various business partners to ensure the integrity and effectiveness of the portfolio. The successful candidate will be at the forefront of identifying and executing new product development that aligns with industry and consumer trends, including innovative technologies such as telematics and user-based insurance. Candidates for this VP position should have a Bachelor's degree, with a Master's degree preferred, and a minimum of 12 years of related work experience, including at least 7 years in a management role. A Chartered Property Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation is also preferred. The role requires a deep mastery of underwriting discipline, advanced communication, and collaboration skills, and a strong leadership background. The VP will be accountable for the financial performance of the commercial lines, with a focus on driving growth and profitability through product enhancement and development. The position demands a strategic thinker who can influence and execute the company's commercial business model and is adept at leading teams to meet the organization's goals.
