Project Description The project involves the USPTO's International Data Exchange initiative focusing on the development and maintenance of biosequence systems. These systems, including the SLIC system, support filing, validation, and searching of biosequence listings, playing a crucial role in the patent examination and data exchange processes. Position Description We are looking for a Senior Full-Stack Developer who specializes in Angular with Java integration skills for our GD/SLIC product suite at the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO. In this role, you'll design and develop responsive, microservices-based web applications, creating advanced user experiences and translating complex requirements into innovative UX solutions. Your skills in Angular (version 12 or above, along with a strong background in Java, will be essential to building scalable, accessible web applications that comply with 508 Accessibility and WCAG AA standards. This position offers a unique opportunity to impact the management and protection of intellectual property, driving innovation within a critical governmental function. Responsibilities

• Collaborate with stakeholders to create state-of-the-art user experiences.
• Design and develop a modern, highly responsive web-based user interface for Microservices-based web applications.
• Engage with architects, product teams, and leads to understand functional challenges, prototype new ideas, and create innovative UX solutions.
• Utilize the latest tools and techniques in the web UI/UX development spectrum.
• Build reusable components and front-end libraries for future use.
• Translate designs and wireframes into high-quality code.
• Develop fast, scalable websites using Angular and the latest JavaScript standards and best practices.
• Deliver robust technical designs, code, and documentation.
• Adhere to secure coding standards and best practices.
• Engage in the code review process to maintain high software quality standards.

Requirements

• Proficiency in Angular (version 12 or above).
• Experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, HTML, CSS, and cross-browser compatibility.
• Experience with Bootstrap
• Experience with Jasmin unit testing
• Familiarity with CSS preprocessors like Sass or Less.
• Expertise in complex Angular application development.
• Experience developing user interfaces that present large sets of data such as bio sequences
• Experience developing user interfaces that comply with 508 Accessibility and WCAG AA standards.
• Experience with testing frameworks like Jasmine and Karma.
• Familiarity with modern pipelines, tools, and continuous integration using GitLab or similar.
• Experience in writing non-blocking, loosely coupled code.
• Familiarity with version control tools such as Git.
• Strong problem-solving skills and critical thinking ability.
• Experience in building infrastructure for serving front-end apps and assets such as CDNs and S3.
• Familiarity with RESTful APIs.
• Understanding of Java web application technology stack.
• Experience with USPTO a plus
• Experience with WIPO ST.25 XML a plus
• Experience with WIPO standards ST.25, ST.26 a plus
