Project Manager

Location: Greater Montgomery, AL Area (Hybrid) About the Opportunity Our client are a leading provider of building automation and HVAC control solutions and are seeking an experienced HVAC Controls Project Manager to oversee the successful execution of commercial controls projects. This role offers the opportunity to manage multiple projects from kickoff through completion while working closely with customers, engineering teams, subcontractors, and field personnel to ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards. Key Responsibilities Manage HVAC controls and building automation projects throughout the full project lifecycle. Develop project plans, schedules, resource allocations, and staffing requirements for each phase of execution. Review project scopes, contracts, budgets, schedules, and technical requirements to ensure successful delivery. Coordinate project activities with internal teams, subcontractors, vendors, and customers. Lead project kickoff meetings and communicate project expectations, responsibilities, and timelines to stakeholders. Support pre‑sales activities, including site visits and project evaluations, as needed. Collaborate with engineering and application teams on controls system design, programming, and graphics development. Work closely with operations and administrative teams regarding subcontractor management, procurement, equipment ordering, billing milestones, financial tracking, and project closeout documentation. Maintain regular communication with customers, providing project updates, status reports, and progress reviews. Monitor project budgets and forecast costs to completion, identifying and mitigating risks where necessary. Ensure projects are completed safely, efficiently, and in accordance with contractual obligations. Investigate and resolve project issues, implementing corrective actions to maintain customer satisfaction. Obtain customer acceptance and project sign‑off upon successful completion. Prepare project reports and documentation for customers and management. Support contract administration and ensure required project documentation is collected and maintained. Required Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business, or a related field, or equivalent industry experience. 4+ years of project management experience within HVAC controls, building automation systems (BAS), or related mechanical/electrical systems. Strong knowledge of commercial HVAC controls and building automation technologies. Experience managing project budgets, schedules, subcontractors, and customer relationships. Excellent organizational, communication, and problem‑solving skills. Proficiency with project management tools and Microsoft Office applications. Preferred Qualifications Niagara N4 Certification or experience with Niagara‑based systems. Project Management Professional (PMP) certification or equivalent. Previous experience leading teams, mentoring staff, or supervising project personnel. Experience with large commercial, institutional, healthcare, education, or industrial facilities.
