Staff Accountant

EIS Holding, LLC, is one of the largest providers of turnkey environmental services in the country, providing soil and groundwater remediation, asbestos and lead abatement, demolition, mold remediation, and air duct cleaning. Position Description – Staff Accountant Business Group/Dept: Finance FLSA: Exempt Reports To: Controller Purpose of the Position Support the accounting department by performing daily and routine accounting tasks, including maintaining financial records, preparing reports, and reconciling accounts. The Staff Accountant ensures the accuracy and timeliness of financial transactions and contributes to the overall efficiency of the finance team. Perform account reconciliations for bank statements, credit cards, and balance sheet accounts, resolving discrepancies promptly. Process invoices, payments, and collections. Verify the accuracy of vendor invoices and resolve payment-related issues as needed. Assist in the preparation of monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reports. Provide data and insights to support management decision-making. Monitor and track company expenses, ensuring adherence to budgets and policies. Prepare and process employee expense reports. Support the month‑end and year‑end close processes, including preparation of schedules, accruals, and adjustments. Assist in gathering documentation and preparing reports for tax filings and audits. Ensure all financial activities comply with company policies, procedures, and regulatory standards. Support internal control processes to safeguard company assets. Support HR and management with onboarding processes and compliance‑related tasks. Assist in preparation of weekly hourly payroll. Identify opportunities to streamline and improve accounting processes for greater efficiency and accuracy. Provide general support to the accounting and finance team, including data entry, filing, and responding to inquiries from internal and external stakeholders. Physical activities: Sitting, typing, and working on a computer for extended periods. Occasionally lifting or carrying office materials weighing up to 20 pounds. Personal Protective Equipment (PPE): N/A Safety Sensitive: N/A Travel: N/A Minimum Education: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field. Preferred Skill Set: 1‑3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles. Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, or similar platforms) and Microsoft Excel. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices (GAAP). Excellent organizational and time management skills. High attention to detail and accuracy in data entry and reporting. Ability to work collaboratively within a team and communicate effectively. Familiarity with tax regulations and compliance is a plus.
