Wawona's state-of-the-art production methods and facilities ensure consistent high-quality products – all while maintaining the highest food safety standards as required by the USDA and state regulators.ABOUT THIS ROLEThe role of a Maintenance Technician with Wawona Frozen Foods provides a wide range of activities including housekeeping, monitoring systems for proper operations, ensuring countermeasures are followed, repairing and executing work alongside other maintenance staff, or helping in other departments as needed. This role is essential to our operations and candidates must be able to follow clear directions, work in a loud, cold environment, and perform work as part of a team.DUTIES INCLUDEActive participation in Wawona Frozen Foods safety program to maintain a healthy and injury-free environment.Participate in training and company meetings to facilitate individual and company growth.Follow all GMP, HAACP, Food Safety, Food Defense, and SQF policies and procedures.Clean-up work areas or other housekeeping duties as assigned or needed.Servicing machinery for the prevention of breakdowns, in accordance with the organizations LOTO programKnowledge in fabrication and electricalEntry level ability to perform Total Productive Maintenance in any equipment that include but are not limited to repair or replacement of: Bearings, Bushings, Shafts, Gear Boxes, Greasing, Lubing, etc.Ability to assess issues, troubleshoot, and develop proper countermeasures.Inspect systems, equipment, and components to identify hazards, defects, and the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.Other duties may be assigned as required by position.REQUIREMENTS1 -3 years of related work experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.Strong electrical knowledgeAbility to read, write, follow instructions, and recognize similarities and difference.Ability to do continuous repetitive work.Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Excellent listening skills and strong communication skillsA strong work ethic and a can-do attitudeSelf-motivated and self-starterAbility to work with various employees and employee levels while building rapport and respect.Must be punctual and regular attendance is required.Understand and follow all color-coding rules as stated in procedures for utensils, containers, and other equipment.LOCATIONThis position will work out of our Cedar location.BENEFITSCompetitive Medical, Dental, Vision, ADD, Life, FSA and DCAP Benefit OptionsGenerous 401k with Company MatchPaid HolidaysVacationWawona Wednesday's, End of Season Appreciation Events, T-shirts and Hats, Employee of the MonthYou'll have the opportunity to work with great people and make a real impact – while being your unique, authentic self at workWHY SHOULD YOU APPLYWe learn together. Occasionally requested to sit and talk or hear.A fast-paced environment that requires high attention to details and minimal down time.Occasional lifting and transporting of moderately heavy objects, such as buckets of fruit, boxes, pails, etc. Lifting requirement: Must be able to lift up to 40 lbs. independently.Other duties as assigned requiring repetitive tasks, duties, or assignments such as sorting, packing, stacking, or cutting.Work flexible/varying schedules to support the team, customers, and deadlines.Specific vision abilities required by this job include peripheral vision and ability to see all colors.You will be regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts, extreme cold, and vibration.
