IMMEDIATE SUPERVISOR: Program Supervisor

DESCRIPTION: Position is responsible for providing assistance to individuals residing in the sober living home in meeting the goals and objectives of their daily living, as it relates to life skills and crisis intervention. Position requires knowledge of life skills, crisis intervention, and therapeutic interaction skills. A flexible schedule is required.

I. Duties / Responsibilities:

Responsible services provided to assist the individuals to meet the goals and objectives related to life skills and sober living..

This position works in the community and a flexible schedule is required, working overnight, weekends and holidays

II. Essential Job Functions:

• Provides life and social skill training
• provides transportation to appointments as needed
• performs other duties as assigned
• Daily documentation of events and activities

III . Qualification Standards:

Minimum qualifications include a High School Diploma or GED, preferably a QPPMH. Peer recovery specialist are preferred. A Job Coach must be at least 18 years of age. A Job Coach must maintain physical and emotional health to satisfactorily meet the demands of this position. In addition, evidence of a valid Virginia driver’s licensee is required within 30 days of employment.

IV. Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities:

Knowledge of therapeutic interventions, life skills, crisis intervention, knowledge of therapeutic interaction skills. Must demonstrate an appropriate level of skills necessary to effectively perform the responsibilities of this position. Certification in Crisis Wave, First Aid and CPR and a valid Virginia Drivers License.

The goal of Hargrove, Oliver, and Parker Inc, Community Based Services is to prevent out-of-home placement or hospitalization of children, families and adults and to assist in stabilizing them through strength based strategies; to where it is appropriate to avoid homelessness, incarceration or hospitalization.

The objectives include:

-To increase adults functioning within the community
-To decrease out-of-home placements, hospitalization and incarceration
-To increase the overall physical and emotional health of individuals and families
