Maintenance Technician

Industrial Equipment TechnicianSupport production and quality goals by ensuring safe and reliable operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. The technician will perform preventative maintenance and repairs on industrial equipment along with basic building maintenance and repairs using diagrams, OEM manuals and engineering specification to troubleshoot and repair malfunctions.Duties And ResponsibilitiesDiagnose and repair electrical, pneumatic and mechanical failuresPerform preventative and predictive maintenance on production equipment, support equipment, facilities and safety equipmentComply with company personnel and safety policies while supporting "Good Manufacturing Practices"Perform special projects and assignments as directed by supervisory personnelObserve operation of machine and verify conformance to machine specificationsFabricate, install and develop upgrades, modifications and machine changes as directed.Perform all other duties assigned by the management staff.Keep parts inventory and work with operations coordinator to order spare parts and consumables.QualificationsIdeal candidate will have a one-year certificate from college or technical school; or three to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience relating to electrical or mechanical fields.Must have strong analytic, troubleshooting, mathematical, verbal and written communication skillsMust be able to work independently and set priorities to support production requirementsIdeal candidates may display an aptitude for the use of the following toolsShop equipment including: Hand tools, Milling, Grinding, Cutting, Machine Press, Drill press, Tig Welding/BrazingSupport equipment including: Scissor lift, Fork TruckExperience with VFD, PLC, and computed controlled equipment is desirableLanguage SkillsRead, write and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence and memosEffectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with customers, clients, and other employees of the organizationMathematical SkillsWork with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference, and fundamentals of plane and solid geometry and trigonometryApply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situationsReasoning AbilitySolve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization existsInterpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule formComputer SkillsAbility to access, retrieve, update and review files utilizing Microsoft Office and Excel.Physical DemandsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
