Patient Care Coordinator

About the Opportunity We are seeking a friendly, organized, and customer-focused Patient Care Coordinator to join a busy pediatric healthcare facility in Madison Heights. This long-term opportunity is ideal for someone who enjoys helping patients and families, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and can balance customer service, scheduling, insurance verification, and administrative responsibilities.
This location specializes in serving pediatric patients and works closely with families to coordinate specialized medical equipment and services. The environment is team-oriented, supportive, and focused on delivering exceptional patient care.
Schedule Options Option 1
* Monday through Friday
* Alternating weekly schedule:
* 7:30 AM - 4:00 PM
* 9:30 AM - 6:00 PM

* An 8:30 AM - 5:00 PM schedule may also be considered
Option 2
* Four-day workweek
* 7:30 AM - 6:00 PM
* One weekday off each week (cannot be every Monday or every Friday)
Responsibilities
* Welcome and assist patients and families at the front desk
* Answer high-volume inbound calls and respond quickly to patient inquiries
* Schedule appointments for clinical staff
* Verify insurance coverage and obtain authorizations and referrals
* Answer questions regarding insurance benefits, eligibility, and patient costs
* Process patient orders and maintain order status updates
* Prepare and organize documentation for imaging and recordkeeping
* File patient records and customer orders
* Coordinate patient discharge activities in a professional and courteous manner
* Assist with light shipping and receiving duties as needed
* Work collaboratively with clinicians and administrative staff to support daily operations
Qualifications Required
* Strong customer service experience with face-to-face interaction
* Positive, upbeat, and welcoming personality
* Ability to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment
* Comfortable answering phones while navigating computer systems
* Basic computer proficiency
* Strong communication and organizational skills
* Ability to handle sensitive situations with professionalism and empathy
* Team-oriented mindset and willingness to assist where needed
* Comfortable working with pediatric patients, including those with disabilities
*Job Type & Location*
This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Madison Heights, MI.
*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $18.25 - $21.75/hr.
Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
